“Where on Earth is that?”

You may have noticed something about UK online poker; no websites are based in the UK - well, not the mainland anyway. For example, VC Poker is based in Gibraltar - which is well-known to Spaniards, Brits and Barbary apes but probably not to everyone else.

Why is this?  The answer is simple. UK online poker is, by definition, as entirely internet-based as online poker anywhere else. It makes no difference where it is physically. We could set our servers up in Antarctica, 20,000 leagues under the sea or even in orbit (hey, don’t laugh - it will happen one day).

A few years ago, Mr Victor Chandler decided a while ago to move his online bookmaker’s business to sunny Gibraltar. Even though it’s part of the UK, it was better for betting. This was before UK online poker even existed.

So, when VC Poker was born Gibraltar was already our home. Our UK poker site needed a trusted location, the weather is still wonderful, the beer is still cheap and the seagulls still can’t aim… Would you move? Nope, neither would we.

Gibraltar doesn’t let just anyone set up shop either. VC Poker is licensed and regulated up to the hilt - and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
